Missing AK-47 still not recovered, 2 cops held
Aizawl, Jan 25 (PTI) With no recovery of the AK-47,missing from the armoury of the fourth battalion of the IndiaReserve Police in Mamit district of Mizoram recently, theauthorities have arrested two armed police personnel of thefourth IR battalion.
The two armed cops of the fourth IR battalion,including a ''havildar'' were arrested yesterday with the policenot ruling out the possibility of sophisticated arms fallinginto the hands of the Bru insurgents in Tripura, a seniorpolice officer said.
Inquiries indicated the two policemen, belonging tothe Bru community, might have headed to the Bru relief camp innorth Tripura during the same time, between end December andearly January, when the assault rifle and a magazine werefound to be missing, Commandant of the fourth battalion of theIR, F Lalhuliana said.
