K''taka HC issues notices to CM, BJP, DGP over bandh
Bangalore, Jan 24 (PTI) Karnataka High Court todayordered issue of notices to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa,state unit BJP head K S Eshwarappa and Chief Secretary S VRanganath over the ruling-party sponsored bandh on January 22.
The division bench comprising Chief Justive J S Kheharand Justice A S Bopanna also ordered issue of notices to HomeSecretary Shiva Kumar and DGP Ajai Kumar Singh on a PIL filedby city-based advocate V Bopanna, who contended that the bandhwas illegal.
The bandh call was given by BJP to protest Governor HR Bhardwaj''s sanction for prosecution of Yeddyurappa inalleged land scams.
The petitioner termed the bandh as "self-sponsored bythe BJP for its selfish political motives".
