Kerosene mafia burns government officer alive

Manmad (Maharashtra), Jan.25 (ANI): An Additional Collector based in Manmad, Maharashtra, has reportedly been burnt alive by the oil and kerosene mafia.

Television reports quoted Manmad Police as saying that Yashwant Sonawane was burnt alive at the Paniwadi Bus Depot in Manmad in Nasik District.

Police said the oil mafia seized Sonawane while he was conducting raids on firms marketing kerosene illegally. They said that Sonawane had had an argument with them before being burnt alive.

Police said the attackers have absconded after the attack, and a search is on for them. (ANI)
