Kent's Kate Middleton banned from using Facebook
London, Jan 25 (ANI): A woman from Kent has been barred from using her Facebook account simply because she shared the same name as Prince William's fiancee Kate Middleton.
Middleton, who has been using her account for two years, was accused of impersonating her famous namesake, reports the BBC.
"I was quite shocked because I'd started writing an e-mail to all my friends and went to press send and it came up to say I had to login," said the mother from Pembury.
"I logged in and it came up to say I was a fake and my account had been disabled. They said I couldn't use my name because I was impersonating someone famous, which I'm not, as I am Kate Middleton," she added.
Apparently, the social networking giant said it made the occasional mistake and would resolve the issue as soon as possible.
It claimed that it reviews thousands of pieces of content every day to keep the site safe and free from fraud.
Middleton said she was waiting to see if her account would be reactivated. (ANI)
