Illicit liquor unit busted in Thanjavur district

Thanjavur, Jan 25 (PTI) A man has been arrested on thecharge of manufacturing illicit liquor and selling them in abar attached to a retail IMLF outlet in a village in thedistrict.

The man, running a bar attached to TASMAC shop atSethubavachatram, was making illicit liquor by mixing variouschemicals and selling them at the bar, police said.

Acting on a tip off, a Police team from Kalal raided themanufacturing spot and seized about 200 bottles containingillicit liquor.

A hunt is on for Vairavan, who fled the area after lockingthe manufacturing unit on coming to know about the policeaction, and others involved in the racket, police said. PTICOR
