IED recovered, 2 held
Srinagar, Jan 25 (PTI) Security forces today recoveredImprovised Explosive Device weighing eight kg and arrested twosuspects, official sources said.
Acting on a tip off, a joint team of Army and RashtriyaRifles launched a search operation in village Chakla in northKashmir''s Baramulla district, 65 kms from here, they said.
They recovered eight kg of IED from the house of a person,Mohammad Rafiq. The explosive was later taken to the banks ofriver Jhelum and destroyed without any damage.
Rafiq and his associate, Abdul Rehman, a resident ofnearby Rafiabad, were taken into custody for questioning, thesources said.
This is the first major recovery of explosives ahead ofRepublic Day celebrations tomorrow.
