Gujarat Governor, Chief Minister condole Joshi''s demise

Ahmedabad, Jan 24 (PTI) Gujarat Governor Dr Kamala andChief Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of legendaryvocalist Bhimsen Joshi.

"A majestic voice of Indian classical music has goneaway", Modi said in his condolence message.

"He had given his entire life to music and as a resultof entire life''s tapashya he had attained a top place in worldof classical music," Modi said.

"People of Gujarat as well as the nation are shockedat the demise of the great vocalist," Modi further said.

Governor Kamla said, Joshi who was awarded BharatRatna had taken music to a new hight and with his demise thecountry has lost a great vocalist.
