Gold, silver edge higher on stray buying
Mumbai, Jan 24 (PTI) Gold prices moved up slightly in anotherwise lacklustre bullion market here today due to mildretail as well as jewellery offtake, amid firm overseasadvices.
Silver also looked up on renewed industrial support.
Standard gold (99.5 per cent purity) edged up by Rs 5 per10 grams to close at Rs 20,065 from last weekend closing levelof Rs 20,060.
Pure gold (99.9 per cent purity) also gained by a similarmargin to Rs 20,165 per 10 grams as against Rs 20,160previously.
Silver ready (.999 fineness) ended higher at Rs 43,445per kilo from Rs 43,435 last Saturday.
In Europe, spot gold was bid at USD 1,347.90 an ounce inearly trade as compared USD 1,342.25 late in New York onFriday.
Silver was bid at USD 27.55 an ounce from USD 27.47previously.
