Cong to hold rally against BJP Govt on Jan 30
Bangalore, Jan 24 (PTI): Stepping up its campaign againstthe BJP Government in Karnataka, Congress today said it wouldstage a rally in the city on January 30 demanding resignationof the Yeddyurappa Ministry over corruption charges.
Congress workers of nine districts would participate in therally, which would also be held later in Mysore, Gulbarga andBelgaum revenue sub-divisions, KPCC President G Parameshwaratold reporters here.
Rallying in support of Governor H R Bhardwaj, he rejectedBJP allegations that Congress was behind the grant of thesanction for prosecuting Yeddyurappa and asserted "it wasgiven on a complaint by two advocates".
Parameshwara took a dig at BJP leaders for complaining toPresident Pratibha Patil against the Governor for performinghis constitutional duties and alleged the saffron party waspoliticising the Governor''s action.
"If BJP leaders have any ethics they should seek theresignation of Chief Minister Yeddyurappa on moral grounds",he urged.
Parameshwara alleged finances of the state were in ashambles due to ''mismanagement'' by the Yeddyurappa government.
BJP, he alleged, had also failed to keep up most of thepromises made in its poll manifesto including continuoussupply of three phase power to the rural areas and supply ofseeds and fertilisers to farmers at subsidised rates. PTI BHMSRVS01241831
