Cold continues in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh, Jan 25 (PTI) Intense cold today continued inPunjab and Haryana with the minimum temperature settling at afew notches below normal in the state.

Ludhiana at 1.6 deg C was the coldest in Punjab. Patialarecorded a low of 2.5 deg C, down by five degrees, whileAmritsar settled at 3.2 deg C, one point below normal.

Karnal at minimum 3.4 deg C was the coldest place inHaryana.

Elsewhere, Hisar recorded 3.5 deg C, Narnaul 4 deg C,Gurgaon 6 deg C, while Rohtak and Ambala settled at identicalminimum 4.8 deg C.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two neighbouringstates, recorded minimum 5.8 deg C.
