BJP''s yatra aimed to cause communal flare-up: Lalu
Patna, Jan 24 (PTI) The RJD today accused the Congressof not taking "visible" measures to stop BJP''s programme tohoist the tricolour in Srinagar on Republic Day and said thesaffron party''s plan was "a dangerous conspiracy for communalflare-up."
"The BJP and RSS have hatched a dangerous conspiracyfor communal flare-ups... they want to foment communaltension, conflicts and riots... the RJD will never tolerateit", RJD chief Lalu Prasad said at a party function on theoccasion of the 87th birth anniversary of former chiefminister Karpoori Thakur.
The RJD leader said Congress was ''lying dead'' on theBJP plan to hoist the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar onJanuary 26 and any initiatives to stop the yatra were "notvisible".
The landslide victory in Bihar had boosted the moraleof the BJP and RSS, Prasad said, adding, "communal and fascistforces are now eyeing Delhi".
He said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should immediatelystop RSS and BJP activists from Bihar going to Lalchowk.
"Instead of marching to disturb the already disturbedValley, they should rather facilitate hoisting of the flag atLalchowk by the government ...it is none of their (BJP andRSS) business... but they are snubbing the Prime Minister,"the former Railway minister said.
