Use benefits of science and technology for mankind: Bansal

Chandigarh, Jan 24 (PTI) Innovative researches inscience and technology must be used for the greater benefit ofmankind, a Union minister said here today.

"Scientists need to learn from our limitations andshould try to give the best from the available resources..

They should also be provided new opportunities and incentivesfor carrying out their work," Union Minister of Science andTechnology and Earth Sciences, Pawan Kumar Bansal said here.

He also inaugurated the new bio-pharmaceuticalfacility at Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) here onthe occasion.

Bansal advised institutes like IMTECH to carry onresearch for coming up with affordable medicines and vaccines.

Samir K Brahamachari, Director General, Centre forScientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) spoke on the ''CSIRVision 2022''.

CSIR with its 39 high-tech extension centres wereplaying an important role for changing the face of science andtechnology sector in India, he said.
