Rupee inches up 6 paise against US dollar
Mumbai, Jan 24 (PTI) The Indian rupee strengthened by 6paise to Rs 45.56 per dollar in early trade on the InterbankForeign Exchange today, supported by gains posted by otherAsian currencies against the greenback.
Forex dealers said dollar weakness in Asian markets and ahigher opening in the domestic stock market helped the rupee''srise.
The rupee had declined by 9 paise to Rs 45.62/63 perdollar in the previous session on Friday amid increasedcapital outflows and weakness in the domestic equity market.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensexrose by 88.16 points to 19,095.69 in opening trade today. PTISUN RS DP ARV
