Narayana Murthy foresees huge IT boom

Kolkata, Jan 24: One of the India IT giants Infosys' chairman Narayana Murthy expected for a 25-26 percent growth in the IT sector.

Murthy, who attended a ceremony in Kolkata on Jan 23, "Under the current circumstances, it is performing well. Overall, things are fine. Our annualised growth will be 25-26 per cent, and that is pretty good."

"The sector draws a revenue of $5 billion, and if we can grow at 25 percent, that's not bad," added Murthy.

However, Infosys' Q3 results, which was announced on Jan 13, reported consolidated net profit at Rs 1,780 crore as against Rs 1,737 crore in previous quarter, a growth of 2.48 percent.

On the other side, Wipro, which announced their third quarter results on Jan 20, reported a 21.26 percent growth in the net profit at Rs 1,217.4 crore.
