Man impersonating as captain in army arrested
Lucknow, Jan 24 (PTI) A person impersonating as an armyCaptain was today arrested in Varanasi by the Special TaskForce (STF) for allegedly duping youths promising them jobs inthe Indian Army.
Praveen Kumar alias Captain Bhaiya was arrested thisafternoon near Meridian Grand Hotel in Varanasi on a tip off,STF sources said here.
Fake stamps in the names of Colonel Sunil Vasan andCaptain Preveen Sharma, six fake appointment letters,documents of aspirants were recovered from his possession.
The accused claimed that he was posted in the ArmyMedical corps as a doctor and charged Rs 25,000 to Rs 3 lakhfor the jobs, they said.
During interrogation, Kumar also confessed to haveduped over 20 youths for the same.
