Kidnapped official freed
Imphal, Jan 24 (PTI) Senior official of the IndianOil Corporation, K I Singh, who was kidnapped on Friday,was freed by his captors yesterday at a place in Imphal Westdistrict of Manipur, official sources said today.
Singh, a senior divisional manager with the IOC, was freedat Tingri area by the militants who had abducted him demandinga ransom of Rs 1 crore from the oil major.
The abduction had triggered indefinite shutdown of all thepetrol refill stations in Manipur yesterday.
Following his release the petrol pumps opened today,the sources said.
A militant outfit named Naga people''s Support group hadkidnapped Singh at gun point while he was returning home fromoffice Friday night, the sources said.
