Hostel, madarsas to be opened for Muslim students in MP

Bhopal, Jan 24 (PTI) A hostel for 100 Muslim femalestudents at Eidgah hills here and 1,000 madarsas would beopened in Muslim-dominated areas all over Madhya Pradesh.

This was announced by Raghuveer Shrivastava, CommissionerOBC and Minority welfare last evening at the annual functionof Muslim Education and Career Promotion Society (MECAPS).

Shrivastava said that about 60,000 scholarships forminorities students were sanctioned and 20,000 more had beendemanded from the Centre.

MECAPS is a society who provides scholarship tomeritorious students and achievers in various careersannually.

Professor Nisha Dubey, Vice-chancellor of BarkatullahUniversity hailed the efforts of the society and said suchtype of bodies should be in every nook and corner in the stateto ensure education to economically weaker sections of thesociety.

Earlier, MECAPS Secretary, Sagheer Baidar, presented theannual report of the society and organiser Dr. Zafar Hasanconducted the programme.
