Ghaziabad comes out with new electoral roll

Ghaziabad, Jan 24 (PTI) Ghaziabad has come out withits new electoral roll, which has seen an increase of morethan 1.5 lakh electorates, carrying photographs of the voters.

District Magistrate Hredesh Kumar said the new listhas included more than 1.5 lakh voters this time (25,03,345)as compared to 23,09,330 voters in the last general elections.

Some new voters will tomorrow be given their ElectorPhoto Identity Cards (EPIC) at a function here, he said.

Earlier, Meerut became the first district in UttarPradesh to come out with an electoral roll, carryingphotographs of the voters, as the state is gearing up for the2012 Assembly elections.
