Dacoits loot Rs 12 lakh from bank
Keonjhar (Orissa), Jan 24 (PTI) Armed dacoits lootedabout Rs 12 lakh from a State Bank of India (SBI) branch afterfiring in the air and hurling bombs in Orissa''s Keonjhardistrict today.
Police said six motor cycle-borne dacoits arrived atthe SBI branch at Ukhunda under Baria police station and firedin the air to scare away the customers.
While three of them entered into the bank, the restwaited outside.
The dacoits damaged the close circuit tv and lockedthe gate before exploding crude bombs to terrorise theemployees and customers but none was injured, police said.
After assaulting the bank manager and some employees,the gang decamped with over Rs 12 lakh from the locker.
