32,000 children administered pulse polio in Andaman
Port Blair, Jan 24 (PTI) More than 32,000 children inthe age group of 0-5 years were administered polio vaccine inAndaman and Nicobar Islands, officials said today.
A total 98.50 per cent children were immunised withanti-polio vaccine, officials said.
Director of Health Services Dr S K Paul said a totalof 698 fixed and 59 mobile booths functioned.
Arrangements were made to cover the children at busterminals, airport, harbours and religious places and onchildren travelling by inter-island vessels, he said.
Dr Paul said Andaman and Nicobar Islands is polio freeand no polio case was reported for the past ten years.
