Yeddyurappa leaves for Delhi,to meet BJP leaders

Bangalore, Jan 23: The Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday, Jan 23, left for Delhi to discuss with BJP leadership about the crisis that have erupted due to prosecution sanctioned against him by the state Governor HR Bhardwaj over alleged land scam by him and his family members.

Before leaving for Delhi, Yeddyurappa told mediapersons that he would meet the party leadership and discuss about the "attitude of our Governor" and other political developments in the state.

The party's members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, along with their party central leaders, would meet President Pratibha Patil to complain against the State Governor.

The Chief Minister on Saturday declined to resign to his post following the Governor's prosecution sanctions. Yeddyurappa, who maintained an aggressive posture, reiterated that he would fight the issue both politically and legally. BJP Karnataka unit on Saturday observed a shutdown (bandh) in the state to protest against the the Governor.
