Youth should be given more prominence: Rahul Gandhi
Aluva (Ker), Jan 21 (PTI) AICC General Secretary RahulGandhi today said there should be more participation of theyouth in the nation''s political and electoral scenario.
Addressing the National Executive of Youth Congress here,Gandhi, who arrived from New Delhi, said the Congress party''syouth wing should be able to bring in more young citizens toenter politics.
Youth Congress workers should work with common people andconduct padayatras frequently which would enable them to getthe pulse of the people, the Congress leader said.
About 60 delegates, including Youth Congress Presidentsfrom all states, participated in the three-day meeting whichconcluded today.
Gandhi listened to the reporting of activities of eachYouth Congress state committee, presented by the respectivestate Presidents, before addressing the gathering.
After attending the state committee of Kerala StudentsUnion and Youth Congress, Gandhi said those eligible would begiven opportunities during the State Assembly elections due inMay.
The Congress leader later left for New Delhi.
