Relief for 38 militancy-affected families

Srinagar, Jan 21 (PTI) The Jammu and Kashmir governmenthas sanctioned relief of Rs 1.21 crore in favour of 38militancy0affected families in Bandipora district.

The ex-gratia relief was sanctioned at a meeting of thedistrict-level screening committee, an official spokesman saidtoday.

He said Rs four lakh each would be provided to the next ofkin of 28 persons killed in subversive activities.

As part of ex-gratia relief policy, the government eitherprovides Rs one lakh and a job on compassionate grounds orRs four lakh to the next of kin of a person killed inmilitancy-related violence.
