Four killed in road accident
Aizawl, Jan 21 (PTI) Four people were killed and severalothers injured when a mini-truck they were travelling in, metwith an accident near West Phaileng village in Mamit districton the Mizoram-Tripura border yesterday, police said today.
Police said that 28 people were travelling in theill-fated truck and majority of them were from Silsury andAndermanik villages. They were going to West Phaileng villageto open their bank accounts under the New Land Use Policy(NLUP), the flagship programme of the ruling Congress.
The condition of four injured was stated to be criticaland they were brought to the Aizawl Civil Hospital.
Police said that the truck, bearing a Tripuraregistration, hit a huge block of earth and rolled over intothe gorge below the road.
