Cold wave continues unabated in Kashmir, Ladakh gets respite
Srinagar, Jan 21 (PTI) Cold wave in Kashmir divisioncontinued unabated but Ladakh region got some respite as thenight temperature appreciated by several degrees.
Kargil was the coldest place in Kashmir divisionrecording a minimum of minus 15 degrees Celsius as compared toyesterday''s minus 18 degrees Celsius, a MeT departmentofficial said.
He said the minimum temperature in nearby Leh townincreased by 8.1 notches to settle at minus 8.9 degreesCelsius.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar city, the summercapital of Jammu and Kashmir, was recorded at minus 4.4degrees Celsius, 0.4 notches more than yesterday.
The skiing resort of Gulmarg was the coldest place inthe Valley recording a minimum of minus 10.3 degrees Celsius.
Pahalgam, Qazigund, Kokernag and Kupwara towns wereall freezing at minus six degrees Celsius.
