Cold condition abates in Punjab, Haryana
Chandigarh, Jan 21 (PTI) The ongoing cold conditionsabated marginally in Punjab and Haryana even as the minimumtemperature hovered between one to two degrees Celsius belownormal in the region.
The minimum temperature rose by upto three degrees Celsiusin several parts of the region, the MeT office said heretoday.
However, a thick blanket of fog engulfed several areas inthe region, including Amritsar, Karnal, Ludhiana and Rohtak.
Amritsar was the coldest place in the plains of Punjab andHaryana with a low of three degrees Celsius, one notch belownormal.
While Narnaul settled at a low of 3.5 degrees Celsius, twonotches below normal, the minimum temperature at Karnal was4.6 degrees Celsius, also two notches below normal.
Among other places, Hisar had a low of 5.3 degreesCelsius, one notch below normal, followed by six degreesCelsius at Patiala, also one notch below normal.
Rohtak settled at a low of 5.3 degrees Celsius, one notchbelow normal, followed by 6.6 degrees Celsius at Chandigarhand seven degrees Celsius at Ambala.
Ludhiana settled at a low of 5.4 degrees Celsius, onenotch below normal.
The MeT forecast dry weather in the region during thenext two days.
