BJD stages dharana in railway station

Rourkela, Jan 21 (PTI) Biju Janata Dal (BJD) workerstoday launched an indefinite dharana infront of the railwaystation here alleging negligence by railways of Orissa ingeneral and Rourkela in particular.

About 100 workers resorted to dharana in support oftheir 16-point charter of demands including introduction ofmore trains to Rourkela, plying of night trains from Rourkelato Howrah which has been suspended from May, 2010 due tomaoist problem, Construction of Talcher-Bimlagarh rail line,shifting of Rourkela from S.E.railway to East Coast Railwaydivision and establishment of new railway division atRourkela.

BJD Rourkela district president Anand Mohanty saiddharana would continue and from January 27 they will resort toeconomic blockade to press their demands.
