Aarushi murder case: Talwars' request for annexures rejected
New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Friday rejected Rajesh Talwar's application seeking annexures submitted by the CBI along with its closure report in Aarushi murder case.
The court will hold further hearing on January 25.
In its arguments before a special CBI court here, the investigation agency submitted that Talwar was not a complainant and was instead a "suspected accused" and hence not entitled to get documents pertaining to the case.
Talwar's counsel Satish Tamta, however, objected to his client being called an accused.
"It is not right to call my client an accused at this stage. The court had observed last time that nobody is an accused at this stage. To say that they have given wrong information is incorrect. We are not demanding copies of the case diary," he said.
The Talwars had on January 11 filed an application seeking all documents submitted by the CBI in support of the closure report.
The CBI court had on January 7 said that Aarushi's parents are entitled to get a copy of murder case's closure the report.
The CBI had argued that Rajesh Talwar had no "locus standi" to argue as he was "no more a complainant" in the case.
Aarushi, 14, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents" Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida, May 16, 2008. Their domestic help Hemraj's body was found on the flat's terrace a day later. (ANI)
