Verma evasive on whether Adarsh a security threat
New Delhi, Jan 19 (PTI) Navy Chief Admiral Nirmal Vermawas today evasive on whether the controversial Adarsh HousingSociety building was a security threat, saying issues such asownership of land and violation of environmental regulationswere also attached to it.
"There are many more issues involved in it with respectto the very title of the land and violation of environmentalregulations," he told reporters here.
The Navy chief was asked if the building was a securitythreat.
Refusing to comment on Environment Ministry''srecommendation to demolish the scam-tainted building forviolating coastal regulations, Verma said, "These are issuesunder the purview of court and civil administration."
The 31-storey building in the upmarket Colaba area isallegedly constructed on defence land and has been termed as asecurity threat by the Western Naval Commander also.
A CBI probe is already under progress and it is lookingat the role of senior retired and serving officers, includingthree former Services chiefs.
