Two arrested for robbery in Mogolpuri

New Delhi, Jan 19 (PTI) A young man allegedly tried torob a person early this morning as he needed money to buy newclothes and shoes for his brother''s wedding next week butlanded in police net within minutes.

Ravinder (20) and his friend Manoj (25) wereapprehended in Mongolpuri at around 12:30 AM soon after theytargeted three persons who were going home.

"Police chased them and the two were arrested," ChhayaSharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer), said.

Ravinder and Manoj told police that they had committedvarious petty robberies at knife-point earlier.

"Ravinder told us that next week his brother isgetting married and and he had to purchase clothes and shoes.

He was in dire need of money, hence, he was looking for a bigtarget," Sharma said.

Earlier, they were allegedly into drug peddling butdue to police pressure, they stopped it.

A dagger, a stolen mobile phone, a wrist watch and Rs320 cash were recovered from them.
