Some religious groups supporting terrorists in destabilising Pakistan: Malik
Islamabad, Jan 20(ANI): Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said terrorists are destabilising the country, and that he will not allow anyone to disrupt peace in Karachi.
Talking to journalists, Malik said that some religious groups were lending their support to terrorists and dividing the nation, The Nation reports.
Anti-Pakistan elements were targeting the country since the last 63 years, he said, adding that the security forces had foiled their plans to target the Sindh Assembly.
Malik said he had come to Karachi on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, adding that he and the Sindh Home Minister, Zulifqar Mirza, were not aware about the recently running operation in Karachi.
About the raid on former State Minister for Port and Shipping Nabeel Gabol's residence, Malik said that the police did not raid his house.
The Chief City Police Officer (CCPO) informed him that he had sent the police van at Gabol's residence to bring back the police security guards, the interior minister added. (ANI)
