Resisting rape attempt, woman kills two kids, self

Salem (TN), Jan 19 (PTI) A 23-year-old woman allegedlykilled her two children by throwing them into a well andcommitted suicide here today when a man attempted to rape her,police said.

Ambika flung her five-year old daughter and three-yearold son into the well before ending her life by jumping intoit, they said.

Ambika, wife of Srinivasan, a rig owner who often staysin North India for his work, took the extreme step when alocal farmland owner allegedly attempted to rape her, policesaid adding, further investigation was on. No arrests havebeen made.
