Regional conclave on climate change
Kohima, Jan 19 (PTI) Climate change issues and theirimpacts in local context will be discussed at a regionalconclave on climate change at Mokokchung tomorrow.
Political leaders, academics, environment activists,bureaucrats, community leaders and farmers from North-Eastwould attend the conclave, organisers said.
The conclave is sponsored by South Asia RegionalOffice of International Development Research Centre, Canada.
The discussions in the conclave would focus onleadership building to address the climate change issues atlocal context.
Organisers said the conclave would be followed by aspecial interactive session with "climate change leaders" ofthe region who are committed to work on climate change.
The north eastern region is part of the fragileHimalayan ecosystem where over 70 per cent of the populationdepends on their livelihood on agriculture.
