Inflation taking alarming proportions: Lalu

Patna, Jan 19 (PTI) Inflation is taking alarmingproportions in the country and not a single consumer item isleft out of the skyrocketing prices, RJD chief Lalu Prasadtoday said.

Prasad alleged that instead of finding ways to dealwith the spurt in prices of essential commodities, the UPAgovernment was trying to pass the buck on state governments.

Asked as to why he did not appear before thedesignated CBI court for his alleged involvement inmulti-crore fodder scam, Prasad said he could not deposebefore the court due to illness and had submitted a petitionto the court through his lawyer.

Prasad said he would definitely appear before thecourt during the next hearing.
