Govt ready to explore all possible approaches on JPC: PM
New Delhi, Jan 19 (PTI) Ahead of the Budget session,Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today expressed readiness toexplore "all possible approaches" to end the deadlock inParliament on the issue of a JPC probe into 2G spectrum scam.
"As far as JPC is concerned, our government is ready forall possible approaches," he told reporters when asked aboutthe standoff with the opposition over the JPC issue that hadwashed out virtually the entire winter session of Parliament.
Singh said the government wanted Parliament to function.
"We want Parliament should function and all problems canbe debated in Parliament. We are not afraid of any subjectbeing brought up for discussion. Parliament is the forum fordiscussion," the Prime Minister said.
BJP and Left parties have been insisting on a JointParliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe 2G spectrum allocationand there is intense speculation about smooth functioning ofParliament''s Budget session if the confrontation between thegovernment and the opposition persists.
