Final draft electoral rolls released

Madurai, Jan 20 (PTI): District collector C Kamaraj todayreleased the final draft electoral roll for the Tamil NaduLegilative council"s -Tamilnadu South Central Constituency atthe collectorate here

The collector released the roll of Graduates constituencyas well as the teachers'' constituency.

The total number of voters in the graduates'' constituencyis 1,08,384 and in the teachers constituency is 15,836 in thefive districts of the south central constituency, includingMadurai, Dindigul, Pudukottai, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram.

Later speaking to reporters, he said the secretary of theUthamayanakanur cooperative society had been transferred and asalesman suspended for allegedy supplying rice containingpotash to ration card holders without checking its purity.

He said a strict vigil would be kept on supply of essentialcommodities.

He also said a state-of-the-art wholesale vegetable/fruitmarket would come up near Thiruvadhavur,Moopampatti from wherevegetables would be exported.The facility would haveprovisions to sort, process and store vegetables and fruits.

The collector said three temporary farmers'' market wouldalso come up in Madurai to contain vegetable prices. PTI SSNAPR
