Core group reviews security situation in Jammu region
Jammu, Jan 19 (PTI) A high level decision making securitypanel of Jammu region - Core group today reviewed the securitysituation here ahead of the Republic day and BJP''s proposedmarch to the Valley to hoist the national flag at Lal Chowk.
The meeting of the group, chaired by Security Advisorand Corps Commander Lt Gen J P Nehra and attended by seniorcivil, police, and army officers was held at the headquartersof White Knight Corps, at Nagrota, 15 kms from here.
Nehra complimented the security forces, police,intelligence agencies and civil administration for achievingvery high degree of synergy in efficiently handling thechallenges of internal security in the region.
He attributed the downward slide in terrorism to thehigh degree of dedication and cohesiveness amongst all thesecurity agencies in the state.
He stressed on the need to be more vigilant in view ofthe possibility of terrorists attempting to disrupt theexisting peace in the region, especially during the RepublicDay.
