Citizens arrested in India are tourists: China

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeman Hong Lei said that the Chinese tourists were on holiday on the Nepal-India border. They entered India by mistake and subsequently arrested by Indian police, Lei said.
Lei, at a news briefing, said that China's embassy in India was looking into the matter to find more details from the Indian officials. He urged India to deal the matter appropriately.
Indian police stated on Wednesday that the arrested, who include a woman, said that they were employees of Chinese telecoms equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies. The company has stated that it knows the arrests and was in contact with the local authorities to determine the reality.
Recently, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao had visited India and displayed a friendly warmth. Now the arrests have taken place.
