Budget session to start on Feb 21
New Delhi, Jan 20 (PTI) The budget session ofParliament will begin on Feb 21 and the general budget isslated to be presented to Lok Sabha on Feb 28.
The decision to recommend the date for convening of thesession to the President was taken at a meeting of the CabinetCommittee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) chaired by FinanceMinister Pranab Mukherjee, who is also Leader of the House inLok Saba.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister P K Bansal toldreporters that other details relating to the session will beworked out shortly.
The session starts with the Address of the President toa joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament, which is astatement of the government''s policies and programmes for thenext financial year.
The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister SharadPawar, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, Overseas IndianAffairs Minister Vayalar Ravi, Law Minister Veerappa Moily andTextiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, besides Bansal andMinisters of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamyand Ashwani Kumar.
