Budget Session of Parliament to start on Feb. 21
New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): The Budget Session of Parliament will begin on February 21.
The General Budget is to be presented in the Lok Sabha on February 28.
The decision to recommend the date for the convening of the Budget Session to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) here on Thursday, which was chaired by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
The budget session will begin with an address by President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to both Houses of Parliament, which is a statement of the government's policies and programmes for the next fiscal year.
Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Union Law and Justice Minister M. Veerappa Moily, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi and Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran attended the cabinet meeting.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister PK Bansal and Ministers of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy and Ashwani Kumar also attended the meeting chaired by Mukherjee, who is the Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha. (ANI)
