Small sugar remains sluggish on lower demand

Mumbai, Jan 19 (PTI) Small sugar prices continue to ruleweak at the Vashi Wholesale market here today on fewer demandfrom retailers coupled with adequate stock positions.

Meanwhile, medium sugar variety moved up slightly owingto stray buyng support.

Small sugar quality (S-30) moved down by Rs 10 perquintal to Rs 2,851/2,891 from Tuesday''s closing level ofRs 2,861/2,901.

Medium sugar quality (M-30), however looked up at Rs2,892/2,951 per quintal, as compared to Rs 2,891/2,951.

The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,851/2,891 (Rs 2,861/2,901) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,892/2,951(Rs 2,891/2,951).
