Put aside discretionary powers, Gehlot asks ministers

Jaipur, Jan 18 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister AshokGehlot today asked Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries inthe state to relinquish discretionary powers, giving way to amore transparent and collective decision making process.

In accordance with UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi''sinitiatives announced in recently concluded AICC plenarysession, Gehlot issued letters to the Cabinet/State Ministersand Parliamentary Secretaries, asking them to review andrelinquish discretionary powers, an official said

He also asked them to submit their suggestions withina month to develop a collective and transparent decisionmaking process in place of discretionary powers, he said. PTISDA
