NDMC announces new council

New Delhi, Jan 18 (PTI) The new council for the New DelhiMunicipal Council (NDMC) was announced today, the first suchexercise after the delimitation.

Parimal Rai will continue to be the Chairperson whileTajdar Babbar will continue as Vice Chairperson.

Three MLAs from the NDMC area, including Delhi ChiefMinister Sheila Dikshit, are the members of the new council.

The other two MLAs are Ashok Ahuja and Karan SinghTanwar.

The notification was expected as the five-year term ofthe current council expired today.

Apart from the Chairperson, there are two nominees ofDelhi government, two of the union urban development ministryand one from the ministry of home affairs.
