Mayawati holds law and order review meeting

Lucknow, Jan 18 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief MinisterMayawati today held a meeting to review law and ordersituation in the state and directed officials to take sternaction against those involved in illegal activities.

"The range wise review of law and order was made andthe CM directed to keep a check on crime and criminals,"Special DG law and Order Brijlal told reporters here.

During the review meet, Mayawati emphasised that whiledealing with crime, the status economical, political or socialof criminals should not create hindrance and officers shouldact in free and fair manner.

Besides, law and order, Mayawati also reiveiwedperformance of other departments and directed the officers todischarge their duties sincerely otherwise they would have toface strict disciplinary action.
