Maharashtra Govt to review NGOs'' work in Melghat
Amravati, Jan 18 (PTI) Maharashtra Government willreview the work being done by NGOs in Melghat, the tribalarea, where malnutrition problem is "serious", GuardianMinister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said today.
"We have received serious complaints about NGOs inMelghat. It needed to be checked what work is actually beingdone by them after receiving huge funds," he said.
"Even after the efforts taken by government and NGOs,situation of Melghat has not improved much and we will betaking a review of it," he said.
Vikhe Patil as addressing a press conference after thea meeting of District Planning and Development Committee here.
Describing the malnutrition problem in Melghat as"serious", he said the tribal region has 250 villages andthere are 300 registered NGOs working there.
A meeting of NGOs active in Melghat has been called onJanuary 26," the Minister said.
