Jewellery shop burgled

Hyderabad, Jan 18 (PTI) Burglars struck at a jewelleryshop in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hourstoday and decamped with around 7 kg gold ornaments, Rs 3 lakhin cash and other valuables, police said.

The thieves gained entry into Mastan Vali'' jewelleryshop in Kandukur town at around 2.46 am after making a hole inthe wall of the shop and stole the gold ornaments, Rs 3 lakhcash and silver articles, they said.

"They also cut the wires of the CCTV camera anddisconnected the power supply to the shop before decamping,"Kandukur DSP K Vara Prasad told PTI by phone.

The loss is estimated to be over Rs 1 crore, sourcessaid.
