Fresh arrest in jewellery theft case
Chandigarh, Jan 18 (PTI) Police today made a fresh arrestin ''Tanishq'' showroom dacoity case, taking the total number ofmiscreants apprehended so far to nine.
The accused had been identified as Harjinder Singh aliasJonty alias Billa from Jalalabad in Ferozepur district ofPunjab. He drives a mini-truck owned by kingpin Pritpal Singhalias Paras Soni.
Eight youths, including two brothers, from the suburbs ofthe national capital were arrested on Sunday in connectionwith the loot of gold and diamond worth over Rs 10-12 crorelooted from a Chandigarh-based jewellery and 1,000 mobilephones.
The looted items were recovered from them two of whom areClass XI students and another a yoga teacher.
