Chaudhary submits memorandum to Governor against BJP workers
Ahmedabad, Jan 18 (PTI) A delegation led by UnionMinister Tushar Chaudhary today submitted a memorandum toGujarat Governor Dr Kamla alleging police inaction in a caseof BJP workers beating up Congress'' Tapi District panchayatpresident.
Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs TusharChaudhary led a delegation of Congressmen and submitted amemorandum to the Governor at Rajbhavan in Gandhinagar.
The memorandum alleged that two days ago MavjibhaiChaudhary, who is the president of Tapi district panchyat, wasdragged out of his office and badly bashed up by BJP workers.
After a complaint was registered, police did not arrestall those involved but arrested only two persons. They werelater released on bail as strong charges were not pressedagainst them, the memorandum said.
Chaudhary, who is an MP from Bardoli which falls in Tapidistrict, led the Congress workers from Tapi and Suratdistricts to give a memorandum to the Governor.
Animesh Desai, a Congress member who was part of thedelegation, said the Governor has promised to look into theissue.
