Bengal Governor visits Netai village to assess the situation
Kolkata, Jan 19 (PTI) West Bengal Governor M K Narayanantoday visited Netai village near Lalgarh in West Midnaporedistrict, where nine people were killed in firing from analleged CPI-M armed camp on January seven, to assess thesituation.
Narayanan went to the house from where shots were firedand talked to the relatives of some of those killed.
The Governor had summoned State Chief Secretary SamarGhosh a few days back to discuss the law and order situationin the state post-Netai firing.
On the day of the firing, the Governor had asked thestate government to do whatever was needed to stop the slidein the law and order situation before it reached a ''point ofno return''.
Narayanan left for Lalgarh on way to Jhalda in adjoiningPurulia district where seven Forward Bloc activists weregunned down in a Maoist attack on January 16.
