Alagiri says he has not offered to resign
Chennai, Jan 19 (PTI) Union Minister for Chemicals andFertilisers M K Alagiri today said that he had not offered toresign from the Union Cabinet or from the post of DMK''s southzone secretary.
Talking to reporters at the Chennai airport beforeleaving for Delhi, Alagiri said the DMK Chief and his father MKarunanidhi had already replied on the reports of his threatto resign.
Alagiri said he was not in the habit of asking forparty position but if he was given any post, he woulddefinitely accept it and do his best for the party.
Asked whether any DMK nominee would be inducted in theproposed expansion and reshuffle of the union ministry,Alagiri shot back, "Am I the Prime Minister to talk aboutcabinet berths for the DMK".
He also made it clear that he had not demanded partyaction against former Telecom Minister A Raja for his allegedrole in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
